AMTEC Supports KCTCS Advocacy Campaign
February 24, 2010, Frankfort, KY – AMTEC staff and partners gathered in Frankfort to participate in the Kentucky Community & Technical College System Advocacy Day at the State Capitol. Designed to demonstrate the value of community colleges to the commonwealth and encourage legislators to support education in the budget.
AMTEC staff were joined by industry partners Beth Keane, Ford Motor Company, Louisville and Dennis Parker, Toyota Motor Manufacturing's North American Production Services Center (NAPSC), Georgetown. Both individuals, as well as educational AMTEC partner Mark Manuel, VP of Workforce and Institutional Development at Bluegrass Community and Technical College, Scott Jedele, AMTEC Project Director, and Annette Parker, AMTEC Principal Investigator, spoke to several legislators about the impact and importance of the AMTEC National Center on the education of the future automotive workforce of Kentucky as well as the nation.
